Minutes of the Denver branch of the National League of American Pen Women
December 4, 2021
President, Diane Chambers called the zoom meeting to order at 9:40 a.m.
The members in attendance were: Carol Ehrlich, Linda Volin, Karen Gonzales, Diane Chambers, Atlanta Sheridan, Andrea Antico, Sydney Popovich, Ann Klaiman, and Ray Cober
Andrea Antico read some inspirational quotes on the topic of “Books” since this is the season of giving and many people give books as gifts. The quotes were on the many different ways that books enrich our lives.
Ann moved to approve November Minutes, Ray 2nd and the Motion passed.
Diane read the treasure’s report in Kelly Ann’s absence. Our current bank balance is $564.30.
Ray Motioned to approve the treasurer’s report, Atlanta 2nd and Motion passed.
President, Diane Chambers read the November report from our web developer, Virginia Small, regarding the recent updates to our website.
Karen Gonzales gave an update on guest speakers and programs. She is waiting to hear back from Margaret Atwood regarding a presentation on fiction writing for our February meeting. Patricia Raybon will present a Memoir workshop in January. Andriana has volunteered to help Karen with programs.
Regarding old business, Ray said he is in touch with someone at Pikes Peak Community College about the possibility of placing one of our Tapestry Panels at the college. He also agreed to help Linda Volin with the printing/publishing of the Penwomen interviews in book format.
For new business. Atlanta brought up the Zoom Class Action suit that is in litigation against Zoom and that we are eligible to file a complaint as an account holder, if the settlement case moves forward. Carol moved that we go ahead and file the complaint, Linda 2nd, and the Motion passed.
Sydney is planning to attend the Pikes Peak Writing Conference and asked if anyone is familiar with the Conference or has attended before. Several members said they had and recommended it as an excellent conference.
Meeting adjourned 10:14 followed by a Show and Tell by our members of their books, poetry, and current projects.
