Diane Lane Chambers is an award-winning author of three nonfiction books. She has enjoyed a career as a professional sign language interpreter for over 45 years. Her focus for the last 20 years has been interpreting in the medical and behavioral health arenas. Active in the National League of American Pen Women, she has served as the NLAPW Denver Branch vice president and several terms as president. In her free time, when she is not writing or spending time with grandchildren, she follows legislation and advocates for reform of our nation’s privacy laws and involuntary commitment statues to remove barriers to treatment for persons with serious mental illness.

Diane’s books, which can be found on Amazon or Barnes & Noble, are titled: Fragile Minds: An Advocate’s Story, (Ellexa Press 2022), Words in My Hands: A Teacher, A Deaf-Blind Man, An Unforgettable Journey (Ellexa Press 2005), and Hearing the Stream: A Survivor’s Journey into the Sisterhood of Breast Cancer (Ellexa Press 2012).

She is also the producer and narrator of the DVD titled, SSPs: What Are They and Why Are They Necessary?, a video about support service providers for persons with hearing and vision loss.
