Linda Reiss Volin is currently serving as President of the Denver branch of the National League of American Pen Women. She has loved writing since early childhood. How thrilled she was when she heard that her newly adopted hometown had an active American Pen Women group! She applied as a Letters member. Recently she was Layout Editor of Who We Are, a collection of interviews prepared by and about members of Denver Pen Women.
Linda is a retired teacher. For over thirty years she taught all levels from kindergarten through college. She specialized in English, Reading, ESL and for nine years was Coordinator of English as a Second Language in a New York City high school. After retirement Linda continued as an adjunct at City University of New York (Queensborough Community College), State University of New York (Farmingdale) and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China.
She has been editor and writer for genealogy and educational publications and presenter at various conferences. Linda served as Vice President of the New York State Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages.
She received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Education from Hofstra University on Long Island and a Professional Diploma in Administration from CW Post, Long Island University. She took graduate courses at other universities, including Cornell, Harvard and the Sorbonne in Paris.
Linda was an award recipient for her paintings and photography, and her work appeared in solo and group exhibits on Long Island, New York.
Currently she is a member of the Columbine Poets and is happy to announce that she won Honorable Mention recognition for her poetry submission at the 2022 convention of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies. She is proud of her book Genealogy for the Jewish Student, published by Xlibris and also sold on Amazon.
Linda expresses her delight to be working with the multi-talented members of Denver Pen Women and looks forward to witnessing more great programs and accomplishments by the members.
