Instead of our scheduled meeting on Saturday, October 5th, The Pen Women will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at the free poetry festival at Metro State University.
The Lalo Delgado Day of Flor y Canto Poetry Festival is a day dedicated to the written and spoken word, in memory of Abelardo "Lalo" Delgado, the "Grandfather of Chicano Poetry." The day includes special tributes, poetry workshops, PoeJazz, Open Mic, and comida deliciosa.
This is a free event. Come one, come all. But, if you are interested in reading your poems, please register online . Come and enjoy yourself at what promises to be an exciting way to celebrate love for poetry and Hispanic Heritage Month!
