March 7, 2020 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
On Saturday, March 7th, at 11:00 Alexandra O’Connell, award winning editor, writer, and coach is going to present us with a writing workshop you won’t want to miss!
This will be a “hands-on” workshop, so you will need to bring something you've previously written or some of your work-in-progress. This will be different for poets, but prose writers should bring at least twenty pages of what you are working on.
We will focus on specific writing techniques such as active versus passive voice, specificity (e.g. strong verbs), scene and sensory detail, and considering your audience. If time allows Alexandra will also address how we can use a back-of-book-blurb as a discovery and focusing technique for our writing.
Our usual business meeting will begin at 10:00. Please come early if you wish to help set up. Bring a snack to share if you like.
