Poetry to Go ceases operation
On November 5, 2011, the board of the Poetry Society of Colorado voted to relinquish involvement with Poetry to Go. With that action, the 2012 contest is cancelled, and PTG finds itself in need of a new sponsoring, non-profit organization. Poetry to Go, founded in 2000 by the Denver Branch, NLAPW, is a contest for teen authors in the Denver metro area. For more details, click on Poetry to Go in the menu bar, above. Please contact Ann Klaiman, PTG Liaison (poetrytogodenver@aol.com), if you’d like to discuss the future of this contest that supports Denver area teens’ writing and creativity.
This fall, the Colorado Alzheimer’s Association initiated a program highlighting a local author each month. Their debut book is We Keep Our Potato Chips in the Refrigerator, a memoir by Denver Branch member Patricia Cox. To read more about Patricia, click on “Members” in the bar above.
