April is National Poetry Month

April is National Poetry Month. Here are some happenings around town that celebrate the poet in all of us.

Denver Public Library
In celebration of National Poetry Month, Denver Public Library staff and guest poets have recorded poems written either by themselves or their favorite poet. [They] will be publishing new poems frequently throughout the month of April so check back often. Please note, some of the poems contain adult language.

Check out the Colorado Poets Center

CBS Denver has a list of events going on.

Colorin Colorado is for students who are learning English as a Second Language (ESL).

The Academy of American Poets has a list of ways to celebrate poetry.

This info is from The Mile High Gay Guy.
Poetry Flash Mob
Tuesday, April 1, noon
To kick off Poetry Month, the public is invited to join with poets for a simultaneous reading along the 16th Street Mall. Anyone interested should meet on the 16th Street Mall at Glenarm.

Poets on Corners
Friday, April 4, 6:30 p.m.
Poets will join forces with the First Friday Art Walks, entertaining crowds at corners of many of the local arts districts including Santa Fe, Golden Triangle and RiNo.
