The Tapestry for Peace was inspired by a vision shown to the late Eve Mackintosh. One day on a highway she saw an angel holding two Earths: one up in the air and one close to her heart. A voice then said to Eve, “There is a place in space for peace.” This gave her the idea to create a tapestry depicting peace around the world. The quilt was created by Pen Women branches around the country, and other peace groups, schools, and individuals around the world. Eve saw the first panels finished before she died in 2005. Since then the entire quilt has been completed. A documentary DVD has been made, and the tapestry was temporarily put on display.

I remember so much love and camaraderie that went into the making of the tapestry!
Peace is possible.
What an amazing tribute to peace at a time when it is desperately needed!
Looking at the Tapestry brings me back to the bi-centennial where I was first able to spend time with it. Thanks so much for all who made this beautiful work possible.
